Form Rehearsal

Every year during the month of Muharram, people gather on the main street of the city center in Zanjan to mourn for Husayn ibn Ali (the third Imam of Shiites), who was martyred in battle about 1400 years ago. This ancient tradition initially involved mourners walking the distance between two sacred places accompanied by lamentation and sorrowful elegies. However, in recent years, especially with media coverage, this mourning has transformed into public gatherings where its organizers present it more magnificently in front of television cameras by creating organized forms. This collection of photographs, for me, was not aimed at conveying a specific conceptual meaning but rather in search of exploring forms.
